Our pupils marked Armistice Day 2009 in school. Nursery and Reception walked down to the War Memorial statue to pay their respects. They also made poppies back in school. Year 3 & 4 composed a class poem about World War One and remembrance. We had an earlier break today to allow us to have a special assembly which included the opportunity for all pupils to undertake the two minute silence.

Year 3&4's Remembrance Poem:

Remembering the courageous fallen, fighting for the world,
Fathers, brothers, cousins, grandfathers and husbands,
Sitting in their filthy, muddy trench feeling lonely,
Damp, disgraced, disgusted, disappointed, damaged, doomed,
Robbed of their souls,
We will remember them.‚Äč
